A dozen law firms with a big Washington, D.C., presence landed in the latest Am Law 100, as regulatory and litigation practices helped the majority of these firms rise in the rankings or keep steady.

Half of the firms moved up the Am Law 100 revenue rankings from the year prior, with Venable (now No. 64) making the biggest jump by moving up five slots. Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld (No. 36) moved up by four slots; Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr (No. 31) moved up by three; Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer (No. 47) moved up two; and Hogan Lovells (No. 11) moved up by one.
